mamagement adeleAdele Wilson -  Supported Living Services Depute Manager

After completing my honours in sociology at university I started working in what I thought would be a temporary position that would give me a bit of experience until I decided what I really wanted to do.  In this role I gave support to  individuals moving from long stay institutions into the local community.  15 years later and I am still working with people with learning disabilities and still getting as much enjoyment and job satisfaction from working with individuals and helping them achieve the life they want..  I am very excited about the future of the supported living services and I am equally excited that I get to be a part of that.

management staceyStacey Samson - Supported Living Services Depute Manager

I have worked at ENABLE Glasgow for the past 9 years. In this time I have held many positions including support assistant, support worker and senior support worker. in February 2017 I was successful in my application for role of Depute Manager for the supported living services. I am very excited about the challenges this role may bring; especially within our new Esmond Street Support Service. I feel very honoured to work with such amazing service users and to help them realise their full potential in life and I hope to continue this for many years to come.

balshagray staff carolCarole Granger - Senior Support Worker Balshagray House

I have been working as a Senior Support Worker at Balshagray house for two years. This was a big transition for me as it had been at least 15 years since I had worked in a large environment.
I have really enjoyed getting to know service users, families and other professionals.  The staff have worked really hard this year developing systems that improve the quality of the service we provide. It feels great to be part of such a dedicated team of staff.

BALSHAGRAY STAFF GEMMAGemma Mitchell - Senior Support Worker at Balshagray House

While I was at university studying psychology I wanted to do some volunteer work and I started volunteering at Fortune Works. I was lucky enough to gain some sessional work while there and it showed me how much I enjoyed working with people with learning disabilities. A support assistant position became available  Alder Road and I applied for this and was successful, gaining so much experience and knowledge.  I was able to complete SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care moving up to support worker. I then came over to Balshagray in 2014 and  again gained new skills and experience  loved working within all the supported living services. I have also completed a PDA Award in Supervision and the Supervision of others.  A position for senior support worker became available in 2016 and I was delighted to be successful with my application. I couldn’t be more happier within my role.
