Thank You to Our Staff and Volunteer Teams!

Staff and Volunteers Go Above and Beyond During Recent Cold Snap

Our staff and volunteers pulled together to ensure our services could continue to meet the needs of the people we work with during the unprecedented conditions that led to Central Scotland's first ever red weather warning last week...

We appreciate all staff who took heed of the instructions not to travel and the speedy reponse of our teams to put emergency procedures in place. Those staff working at our supported living units who could make it into work safely went above and beyond, with many staying over night to ensure they could be on hand for their shift the following day.

Fortune Works team worked hard to ensure people did not compromise their safety by attempting to travel to the project and were aware the Centre was closed. Efficient use of social media and staff being contactable via mobile phones etc. ensured a safe coordination of emergency closure procedures. Offers of help from the team to support other services were also greatly appreciated.

Chairperson, Janet MacGregor and her husband brought essential supplies of bread and milk to our suported living services, friends of our staff team kindly brought food in for people and other members of staff volunteered their time to come in and ensure all the cleaning was done.

Supported Living Manager, Theresa Campbell, would like to thank all staff and volunteers for supporting our services during this time and ENABLE Glasgow thanks all of our teams for their dedication and common sense approach to the weather conditions.
