Fortune Works and Growchapel

Growchapel is a collective project in which different organsiations and community groups have come together to tend their allotment spaces and cultivate a new source of local connections.

The Growchapel initiative promises to be a worthwhile and high profile project, and already there are discussions on how the concept can be extended to other disused open spaces in Drumchapel and other parts of the city. As well as the allotments, the site will be used for community events, and as a place where local people can go to meet one another, chill out, and enjoy the open space. The Fortune Works Growing Together team has already started work on developing our plot on the site, and we hope to be well prepared for the growing season next year. The Team will also be responsible for maintaining the common areas on the site, in conjunction with Glasgow City Council.
