Our Fortune Works service is advertising for three assistant roles through Employability In Scotland's No One Left Behind LTU programme...

The posts will offer up to a six month contract for three different assistant roles,creating important job opportunities as detailed below.  Fortune Works will be advertising these roles in conjunction with Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS).

Vacancies for ENABLE Glasgow / Fortune Works

“These vacancies are only available through No One Left Behind LTU programme. All applicants MUST be resident in Glasgow, aged 25 years plus and 12 months or more out of work and not in education or training and who would, without significant investment, struggle to secure/sustain employment and experiencing additional barriers to securing employment e.g. carer, BAME, disability etc.”

Established in 1960, ENABLE Glasgow’s Fortune Works is a social enterprise which provides meaningful opportunities for people with a learning disability within Glasgow and surrounding areas. Based primarily in the Drumchapel area, the service combines accessible social and enterprising activities and offers individualised support for people to make a positive contribution to their community.

Job Title: Assistant Support Worker  Job Ref: LTU046

Up to a six month contract of 30hour post @ £10.50 an hour

The Assistant Support Worker-Social Enterprise duties will include helping the Support Worker to create, facilitate and maintain positive person centred activities which support people with a learning disability to play a worthwhile economic role as a valued member of the local community.

The successful candidate will provide a high quality of care and support for service users with a range of learning disabilities and will encourage participation in group activities to support people to gain skills and confidence.

Most importantly they should have a positive and empowering approach to support people purchasing the service at Fortune Works

Job Title: Assistant Administration Worker Job Ref: LTU048

Up to a six month contract of 30hour post @ £10.50 an hour

The successful candidate will assist the Administrative Coordinator to coordinate the administration function of the service, undertaking administrative and clerical tasks, and will contribute to the general aims and objectives of the unit. The person will also work with the support staff team in providing a high quality of care and support for service users. This will also include working alongside service users in an administrative capacity.

Up to a six month contract of 30hour post @ £10.50 an hour

Fortune Works ‘Growing Together Project’ aims to expand its therapeutic horticulture service enabling individuals with learning disabilities to have increased access to its garden service activities. Your role will involve supporting the Support Worker and service users to maintain and develop the existing garden centre and green services. You will assist in providing a high quality of care and support for service users with a range of learning disabilities and encourage their participation in group activities. This will include supporting service users in the delivery of Learning Disability Awareness and Hate Crime training to other agencies, schools, colleges, local businesses’, community groups and the general public.

In addition you will help support the Growing Together Project’s delivery of the Caley Award, a Grow and Learn Project which has a horticultural award scheme that recognises individual progress and achievement through experiential learning and personal development.
