Singing, dancing, eating and a surprise visit!

The event was mainly aimed at service users’ families and friends, but we were also pleased to welcome many people who played a role in the development of the unit, and people from the local community.

The afternoon included a busy karaoke session hosted by our very own singing star Lorna O’Neill, and we were also visited by Libby McArthur, former star of the popular BBC Scotland drama River City. There are many keen River City fans at Esmond Street, and there was a long queue for selfies with Libby – many thanks to her for making the time to come and visit us.

The event also generated a good deal of publicity, with articles on the Evening Times website and in the paper itself, and on the Glasgow Live news website. Also, although our local MSP Sandra White couldn’t attend on the day, she also mentioned the event on her Facebook page and will be visiting the house

Many thanks to all those who helped plan and run the event, and to everyone who came along and helped us celebrate.
