Cuppa Club....Supporting Older Carers

In many of ENABLE’s recent campaigns to provide better support for older carers, some of these carers frequently raised the point that there weren't many opportunities to get together socially and exchange views and experiences. As a result, ENABLE Scotland were recently successful in securing one year funding from the Volunteer Action Transition Fund and and has launched a new Cuppa Club for carers. ENABLE Glasgow is working closely with our colleagues from the national office on this, and hope that our members will also take advantage of this new opportunity.
The Cuppa Club will run every fortnight at the Albany Centre, Ashley Street (just across the road from Curran House) and will provide a forum for carers to get together, have lunch, and engage in carer-led activities. Also, and perhaps most crucially, carers will also be able to access free advice and information services. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend between 12 and 2pm. Like the club itself, this is a free event and will hopefully allow people to find out more about what the club can offer whilst enjoying lunch.
