Coronavirus Service Update: January 2021
Since the latest government restrictions were announced, our services have had to respond to these stricter regulations, with the safety of all of our service uisers and members at the forefront of our minds.
As outlined in the last edition of our GB News (newsletter), most of our services are regarded as essential, however the tightening of Tier 4 restrictions has had a significant impact on what we do. In particular we have had to temporarily close our building based Fortune Works service.
Prior to the Christmas break, Fortune Works was providing a building based service to 60 of those most in need of this. Other service users were able to connect to the service online, with the aid of the Connecting Scotland programme and other funding streams. However due to the most recent safety concerns, we have had to suspend our building based service until such times as the government deems it less high risk to operate. Key workers continue to stay in regular contact with their service user groups to provide essential support whilst the service is closed and we will of course keep everyone updated on any developments.
We understand that it is also a difficult time for relatives of those living in our supported living services. Visiting regulations can be subject to frequent changes, so as always we ask relatives to contact our supported living services directly about this. We continue with our rigorous testing, infection control and risk asessment programme within our services and staff are extremly vigilant in keeping people safe in their own homes.
Our social activities programme remains suspended. We understand that many of our members are really missing this and we look forward to seeing you all when things get better and we can safely meet up again in the future. Our Buddies Programme continues to operate virtually and we recently resumed Glasgow ACE meetings via Zoom. If anyone would like further information on these, please contact Karen or Jane: email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org
Finally our central office staff are mainly working from home, with the exception of any essential work. You can continue to contact our office Monday to Friday on 0141 332 7420. However please be aware that it might take us a little longer than usual to get back to any enquiries.
