Glasgow HSCP Care Charges Survey- Have Your Say!

Glasgow HSCP logo

Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership has issued a survey for service users and carers in order to find out how care charges for non-residential support affects people who pay these charges.  The HSCP will use the results of these surveys to assess how the impact of the charges affect inequality for people affected in the city.

We know from the experiences of our own service users and members that this is a huge issue for them.  Charges have increased dramatically over the past few years, and in many cases are causing real hardship.  People also feel that the system is unfair, and can’t understand how people in very similar circumstances pay such different amounts.  Also, in some other parts of Scotland, people pay much less, or even nothing at all.  Enable Glasgow believes that the charging policy disproportionately affects people with learning disabilities and mental illness, as these groups are less likely to receive free personal care.

The survey is only open for a short time, until Monday 3rd February, so we would strongly encourage as many of our members as possible to respond and make their views known.  You can access the survey at this link https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/Consultation2025/  and this is also available on our website and social media pages.  Please contact us if you need any help.
